About the Woodfair

A variety of exhibitors and demonstrators from the wonderful world of wood will be displaying their products and skills at the Woodfair. Visitors will be able to see why shire horses are still one of the most effective means of logging; they can learn why wood is an efficient and renewable source of fuel and admire the traditional skills of a wide range of craftsmen and artists.

David Blake - Event Organiser

"We've got everything from big forestry machines to medieval farriers; falconry to furniture makers, timber frames to turning. Whether it's the old world of wood you hanker after or the potential of biofuels as a means of tackling climate change, the woodfair can show you why wood is as relevant today as it's always been.."

The Cranborne Chase Woodfair will also be a celebration of some of the regions most famous and traditional industries, such as cider and willow together with lots of other locally sourced and produced food and drink. Artisans and crafts folk who work with wood are especially welcomed.

This is an opportunity to celebrate our local outstanding enterprises and appreciate what makes this an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
